Reference tables
The data behind the calculators, as tables you can read directly. Generated from the same modules the tools use, so a corrected figure reaches both at once.
AWG conductor resistance
DC resistance of solid copper conductors by AWG size, in ohms per 100 m and per 1000 ft, with conductor diameter, cross-sectional area and temperature correction.
IEEE 802.3 PoE types and limits
Power, voltage and current limits for 802.3af Type 1, 802.3at Type 2 and 802.3bt Type 3 and Type 4 Power over Ethernet, with the loop resistance model.
ITU-T PON ODN loss classes
GPON and XGS-PON optical distribution network loss classes from ITU-T G.984.2 and G.9807.1, with splitter insertion loss and fibre attenuation by wavelength.
ITU-R P.838-3 rain attenuation coefficients
Rain specific attenuation coefficients k and alpha by frequency for horizontal and vertical polarisation, computed from the ITU-R P.838-3 fitting functions.
FCC maximum permissible exposure limits
Maximum permissible exposure limits from 47 CFR 1.1310 for occupational/controlled and general population/uncontrolled exposure, by frequency and by amateur band.
EN 1991-1-4 terrain categories
Eurocode wind terrain categories with roughness length, minimum height, terrain factor and peak velocity pressure by height for a 26 m/s basic wind velocity.
Twisted pair cable attenuation
Insertion loss per 100 m for Category 5e, 6 and 6A twisted pair cable by frequency, with the three-term attenuation coefficients each value is computed from.
On provenance
Every table here states where its figures come from, and they are not all equal. ITU recommendations are free downloads, so those values were checked line by line against the published text. TIA-568 and ISO 11801 are paid standards, so the cabling page reproduces nothing from them and labels which of its coefficients could and could not be verified against a public source.
